Trip Stats

So... we decided to take a road trip to drop our granddaughter off at her dad's in Portland. But we wanted to do a road trip we saw on Pinterest . We added some stops and dropped some as needed. Here we go... STATS! Vehicle- 2016 Ford Edge Mileage - 4057.5 miles from our front door and back. (includes driving into parks and attractions). Total Days- 11 Total Hours of Driving - 87 hours and 23 minutes--  Disclaimer  this was all my wife. She drove the whole time except for maybe 2 hours. Fuel Used - 154.46 gallons  Average Fuel Consumption-  26.2 mpg National Parks - Eight in total  One Theme Park-    Six Flags Magic Mountain Roadside Attractions - Four  This road trip was no minor undertaking. My wife and I thought we had planned it out to the last detail. How this started...

My love of travel was instilled in me by my parents. As a kid we camped all over the East Coast, traveled to Porto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Mexico. It was further ingrained into me by twenty years of US Military service in the US Air Force. After my career in the Air Force, I became a teacher and use my summers to travel with my wife.  I started this blog to document my journey with my wife to every US National Park. We both share a love of travel and National Parks. We are attempting to check this feat off our bucket lists. Hopefully, through my mistakes you as a reader will have the adventure of a life time as my wife and I plan to do. I will possibly add cruises we have taken and will take. Most of this blog will be written after the fact but I may make a few on the road posts (simply because there is hardly ever a signal where we have gone😉).
